POSITION SUMMARY:
The Personal Training Manager is responsible for maintaining the excellence of the Equinox experience through comprehensive education, innovative programming, and trainer enhancement. This role is pivotal in motivating both members and staff towards a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborating closely with the Personal Training Manager, the Personal Training Manager fosters a vibrant and cooperative environment, driving professional growth for individuals and teams, upholding brand standards, and influencing key business metrics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to ensure effective departmental operations.
Service Excellence:
Guarantee the quality of service provided through both complimentary and paid Personal Training offerings, ensuring sustained engagement in personal training.
• Oversee complimentary Personal Training sessions and prepare member results reviews.
• Work in tandem with Membership Advisors to clarify the value proposition of Personal Training.
• Collaborate with Membership Advisors for seamless PT Sales transitions.
• Ensure the team adheres to branded, high-quality member interactions during Fitness Specialist Hours, Special Events, etc.
• Assist the Personal Training Manager with pipeline management as needed.
Cultivating Team Culture:
• Partner with all club departments to achieve cohesive interdepartmental collaboration.
• Engage in the recruitment and selection process for trainers.
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere and uphold service standards for trainers in their engagements with members and club personnel.
• Promote team commitment to ongoing educational opportunities to maintain high educational standards and deliver exceptional programming.
• Develop and present relevant topics at the monthly Personal Training department meetings.
Staff Development:
Guide employees through the tier system via educational initiatives and promotion pathways.
• Enhance skills in fitness assessments, complimentary PT sessions, and results review discussions through coaching and feedback.
• Proficient in Equifit/CPT closing techniques using effective Sales Training methods.
• Provide in-club education to meet the developmental needs of the training team, aligned with EFTI directives during workshops.
• Oversee the quality and developmental aspects of New Hire Onboarding.
• Conduct meetings with trainers to support program and session delivery.
• Ensure timely and efficient promotions within the trainer tier system.
• Identify and collaborate on key talent to advance trainer careers.
• Facilitate weekly Tier X team meetings to discuss upcoming reviews, assessments, and team morale.
• Support the development process for Tier X candidates.
Upholding PT Standards:
Ensure high-quality Personal Training service delivery to enhance member participation, reduce client attrition, and ensure compliance with programming and results review preparations.
• Conduct regular program design meetings with each team member to ensure adherence to program delivery standards.
• Perform audits on both complimentary and paid services, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Ensure proficiency in the use and compliance of all member and employee-facing digital tools, including the Assessment Room, maintaining its presentation and functionality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A degree in Exercise Science or Sports Management is preferred. Current national certification, CPR/AED, and First Aid are required.
• Excellent instructional capabilities, with the ability to lead a curriculum and devise effective learning strategies.
