Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Process Specialist is responsible for driving process improvements and optimizing manufacturing operations to achieve world-class standards. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and lean/six sigma principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
- Lead the development and implementation of new work processes and procedures.
- Work closely with production and technical support resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of new technologies to improve quality and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology/Engineering or relevant combination of education and experience.
- Experience in hands-on automated assembly operations.
- Excellent PC-based computer skills.
- Knowledge of CNC, PLC programming, robots (FANUC and ABB) preferred.
- Working experience with automotive assembly operations, preferably with powertrain applications and including high precision components, inline gauging, leak testing, vision systems, and auxiliary processes.
- Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently.
- Process improvement tools such as Lean/Six Sigma.
- Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/IATF 16949 operating systems.
- Ability to interact and lead effectively at all levels of the organization.
