Job Title: Intermediate Environmental Scientist

Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in managing and executing upstream oil and gas and industrial projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute environmental projects, including reclamation and remediation, from planning to completion.
  • Develop and implement work plans, cost estimates, and monitoring programs for environmental projects.
  • Conduct site assessments, inspections, and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement cost-effective solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
  • Professional designation or in-training designation applicable for conducting professional sign-off in Saskatchewan.
  • Minimum 3-7 years of environmental work experience, including experience in Phase I and II program execution, remediation, reclamation, groundwater monitoring, spill response, and detailed site assessments.
  • Project management experience, including cost estimates, scheduling, budget tracking, and client interactions.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
Location:

This position will be based out of our locations in Regina, Saskatoon, Weyburn, or Lloydminster.
