As a machine learning engineer, you will be instrumental in our data-centric projects and will help redefine investment decision-making with innovative solutions.
The initiatives undertaken by the Investment Science team encompass the development, refinement, and systematization of investment strategies across diverse asset classes in both public and private markets. Recently, there has been an emphasis on critical decision-making throughout the investment lifecycle, including capital allocation and security selection, utilizing exclusive forecasts powered by advanced methodologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Development: Design, enhance, deploy, and maintain machine learning models aimed at predicting future fundamental data. Drive impactful results by leveraging AI and machine learning capabilities to elevate investment research and forecast precision.
- Investment Research: Contribute to the formulation and application of investment research frameworks, merging investment principles with data and advanced analytical techniques to address pivotal challenges in capital allocation and security selection.
- Alpha Generation: Employ an alpha-generation perspective in data and feature engineering, forecasting models, and portfolio construction.
- Collaborative Environment: Thrive in a dynamic setting while working closely with investment professionals, researchers, engineers, and subject matter experts across the organization.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Two to three years of full-time experience in a relevant domain.
- Experience in investments is advantageous. Alternatively, a strong demonstrated interest in investments, financial data, and decision-making processes.
Technical Skills:
- Exceptional programming capabilities are essential, preferably in Python, along with familiarity in C/C++, C#, or Java.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and deploying scalable machine learning models and pipelines in both research and production settings, including proficiency with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks like PySpark is a plus.
- Proficiency or experience in natural language processing utilizing large language models or foundational models is an advantage.
Mindset:
- Demonstrated growth-oriented mindset and intellectual curiosity, with a passion for creating value for the fund and continuously enhancing technical skills (e.g., exploring various AI techniques).
