The Capital Projects Coordinator plays a crucial role in the management of the Capital Planning portfolio. Key responsibilities include data gathering, requirements assessment, monitoring and reporting on capital projects, project execution, issue tracking, and the development of processes and procedures related to the capital planning cycle. The coordinator will manage the issuance of Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotations, and project tenders, collaborating with external consultants to prepare specifications and bid documents, as well as posting tenders and soliciting bids from external sources. The incumbent will summarize tenders and provide selection recommendations under the guidance of departmental professionals, adhering to a consistent tendering process. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee project initiation, execution, closure, and evaluations in conjunction with site personnel and consultants. Support for Project Managers in the daily administration of projects within the department is also a key aspect of this role, along with the preparation of monthly tracking and reporting for the department.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position ranges from $67,861 to $84,826, contingent upon education, training, experience, and salaries of comparable roles.

Qualifications

  • A diploma in Architecture or Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution, along with three to five years of relevant project management experience in architecture, consulting engineering, or construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven knowledge of the BC Building Code; experience with healthcare construction and familiarity with healthcare-specific CSA requirements is an asset.
  • Experience with database applications is preferred.

Skills and Competencies
