About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Performance Builders Ltd. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, bridges, and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction and Repair: Prepare layouts, measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Maintenance and Renovation: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Newcomer and Refugee Support: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters, providing foreign credential recognition and mentorship programs.
  • Indigenous Support: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develop relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations, and provide cultural competency training.
  • Visible Minority Support: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination, offer mentorship programs, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
