About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Boiler Operator to join our Site Services team at the Gahcho Kué Mine in the Northwest Territories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safely and effectively operating equipment and taking ownership of equipment and tools to carry out tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the development of planned maintenance procedures and maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity of equipment and facilities.
  • Process Control: Perform and interpret standardized process control tests and adjust plant equipment and process accordingly.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure critical and operational spare parts have been identified and maintain adequate inventory levels for 100% reliability.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Collect and analyze data for preparation of daily logs and routine reports, and prepare reports based on monitoring requirements as set forth by permit approval.
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Maintain and repair process equipment, heating systems, lighting systems, and lab equipment.
  • Operational Planning: Assist in the preparation of operation and capital budgets.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Minimum of 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate, with additional trade certifications (instrumentation, electrician, millwright, and pipefitter) considered an asset.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, ability to proactively identify system problems and resolve, well-developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships, and a proven commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental Standards.
