Job Title: Lifecycle Material Specialist

At IMP Aerospace & Defence, we are seeking a highly skilled Lifecycle Material Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the CH149 Cormorant Fleet.

Job Summary:

The Lifecycle Material Specialist will be responsible for providing life cycle materiel management process recommendations to increase CH149 Cormorant Fleet operational readiness and sustainability. This includes coordinating the availability of repairable parts, monitoring mechanical systems repairables, and facilitating the transfer of repairables to and from CH149 MOBs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide life cycle materiel management process recommendations to increase CH149 Cormorant Fleet operational readiness and sustainability.
  • Liaise with the CH149 Materiel Department to coordinate the availability of repairable parts.
  • Monitor mechanical systems repairables submitted into the R&O process.
  • Facilitate the transfer of repairables to and from CH149 MOBs.
  • Coordinate rob activity between all MOBs, including HIA, for mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate modification of mechanical systems materiel through liaison with CSH Engineering and Leonardo Helicopters.
  • Input, identify, and prescribe reporting information on Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) rates and other requisite technical materiel data.
  • Monitor component trends and make recommendations on asset and spares inventory positioning for maintenance and inspection cycles.
  • Provide reports to the Cormorant Support Center, Weapons System Manager, and Public Works on materiel, upgrades, modification, and component trends.
  • Provide input to the development and amendment of procedures and work instructions.
  • Investigate potential alternate R&O sources to enhance component turnaround time (TAT) and cost savings.
  • Raise Requests for Engineering Support (RES's) as required.
  • Review and process Material Disposal Requests (MDR's) raised on mechanical systems.
  • Action Repair Requisitions for mechanical systems repairables.
  • Provide a technical review and grant authorization for Purchase Order amendments of R&O components.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Engineering Technology (CET) or an equivalent combination of aircraft technical education and experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in an aircraft engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of rotary wing aircraft systems and components is desirable.
  • Capable of providing clear and detailed written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations, standards, and military modification processes desirable.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • CH149 Cormorant experience will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies.

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Canadian government security clearances.
