Program Focus: Adult Day Program, Overnight Stay
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75
Work Hours: Days, Evenings, Nights
Union Affiliation: CUPE
On-Call Duties: Yes
Position Summary:The Overnight Stay component of the Adult Day Program allows participants to engage in activities over two nights each week. As an Activity Coordinator, your role will be to deliver exceptional overnight support within the guidelines of continuous Quality Improvement, VON principles, and relevant legislation.
Primary Responsibilities:- Assist in the development of client service plans
- Collaboratively implement, assess, and modify service plans
- Design and facilitate social and recreational activities
- Participate in both individual and group engagements
- Support with Activities of Daily Living
- Recognize and mitigate risk factors
- Ensure a safe and secure environment
- Leverage volunteer support
- Carry out additional assigned responsibilities
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator, Recreation Therapist, and Manager
- Diploma or Certificate in healthcare, social services, or recreation
- First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory
- Experience in Adult Day Services or with elderly populations is advantageous
- Experience with individuals facing cognitive or physical challenges is essential
- Strong communication abilities
- Excellent observational skills
- Awareness of community resources
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Criminal Records Check is necessary
- Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required
- Ability to utilize Personal Protective Equipment
Work Environment and Physical Demands: Attention to detail; ability to lift and carry using proper techniques; physical activities including bending, pushing, pulling, gripping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
