The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is a dynamic charity dedicated to strengthening the foundations of communities through opportunities for personal growth, community involvement, and leadership.

We have been offering programs and services to the North Bay and Greater Sudbury communities since 1958 and 1936, respectively. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment for individuals and families to thrive.

This full-time position is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Durham Street location in Downtown Sudbury. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the YMCA branch and its components in accordance with our charitable purpose, annual plan, and strategic direction.

Under the leadership of the Vice President, Health and Wellness, you will oversee the delivery of programs and services in Health and Wellness, ensuring effective management of human, material, and financial resources. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a passion for community development and social services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the YMCA branch and its components
  • Oversee the delivery of programs and services in Health and Wellness
  • Ensure effective management of human, material, and financial resources
  • Contribute to the development of operational goals and priorities
  • Participate in the implementation of association standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in business administration, recreation and leisure services, Child and youth worker, physical fitness management, or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a leadership/management/supervisory role in a not-for-profit environment
  • Active in community development
  • Solid understanding of social services at the local, provincial, and federal level
  • Superior computer knowledge and ability to learn new programs
  • Proven proposal and report writing expertise
  • Bilingualism in both official languages considered an asset
