Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Facilities Planning and Project Management Leader to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and implementation of facilities strategies and projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of facilities planning and project initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective project management systems and processes to ensure consistency with strategic plans.
  • Oversee the work of designated staff, including recruitment, orientation, and professional development.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets, monitoring expenditures and performing variance analysis.
  • Participate in the development and approval of annual goals and objectives, and establish processes and best practices for project delivery.
  • Establish detailed project charters, plans, and objectives to outline project goals and deliverables.
  • Manage the strategic and conceptual planning, design, and implementation of facilities projects, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate and facilitate consensus with external stakeholders, including foundations, government agencies, and community groups.
  • Provide regular status reports to senior leadership, including project budgets, cash flows, schedules, scope, customer satisfaction, and risk status.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
  • Professional designation, supplemented with seven to ten years' recent, related experience in progressively more complex leadership roles in a large multi-site organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities project delivery processes, including planning, design, construction, and procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage major facilities projects from concept to completion.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and facilitate consensus with various levels of government and community groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize creativity and innovation in problem-solving and strategic planning.
