Job Title: Lead, Research

Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Research and Innovation department. The successful candidate will be responsible for administratively leading the MGH Research Ethics Board (REB) and overseeing the organization, planning, and implementation of special projects within the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the REB and ensure compliance with research regulations and guidelines
  • Oversee the research program revitalization portfolio, including the RFP process for electronic research administration software
  • Collaborate with teams to deliver research department goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure research integrity and compliance
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, required
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in research administration, study implementation, funding, financial reporting, and/or data management
  • Minimum of two years of experience in REB administration, coordination, or experience with the preparation and review of REB packages
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in a hospital setting or a healthcare-related project
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and/or CCRP/ACRP certification and/or PMP certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing clinical research and research ethics, including TCPS, ICH GCP, Health Canada, OHRP, FDA, and PHIPA
