Job Summary

The Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Research and Innovation department, you will be responsible for leading the organization, planning, and implementation of special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administratively lead the Michael Garron Hospital Research Ethics Board (REB)
  • Oversee the research program revitalization portfolio, including leading the request for proposals (RFP) process for electronic research administration software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver research department goals
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with research regulations and guidelines
  • Provide guidance and support to research staff on research ethics and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, required
  • Master's degree and/or CCRP/ACRP certification and/or PMP certification is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in research administration, study implementation, funding, financial reporting, and/or data management
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in REB administration, coordination, or experience with the preparation and review of REB packages
  • Demonstrated experience in project management in a hospital setting or a healthcare-related project
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing clinical research and research ethics, including TCPS, ICH GCP, Health Canada, OHRP, FDA, and PHIPA
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and address competing demands based on priority
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to build positive working relationships with diverse collaborators and to influence decision making and adoption of change initiatives
  • Exercises judgment and decision making, using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems
  • Demonstrated understanding of policies, procedures, and issues dealing with research integrity and the conduct of research
  • Excellent capabilities with MS Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills, and professionalism
  • Interest in the principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-racism
