Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Diagnostic Services team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, including pediatric and high-risk obstetric cases. Your technical expertise and strong communication skills will enable you to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform ultrasound examinations, including pediatric and high-risk obstetric cases
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in ultrasound technology
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited training program in ultrasonography
  • Current membership in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Professional designation of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) registration
  • Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
