Rehabilitation Support Specialist

Arvan Rehab Group Inc. is seeking a TEMPORARY Rehabilitation Support Specialist for a Long Term Care client. Under the supervision of a licensed Physiotherapist, the selected candidate will engage closely with residents to facilitate the implementation of their treatment plans and assist them in achieving their rehabilitation objectives.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week (Temporary position covering vacation periods)
- Assist in leading group therapy sessions and provide individualized support as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Motivate residents to meet their rehabilitation goals as outlined in their treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and track residents' progress in accordance with the Physiotherapist's guidelines.
- Support residents with mobility, including walking, sitting, and safe transfers.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' health conditions to the Physiotherapist or designated supervisor.
- Administer treatments such as applying heat or cold packs, ultrasound therapy, and other modalities as instructed.
- Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with elderly individuals, supervisors, and colleagues.
- Prior experience in a Long Term Care or retirement facility is highly desirable.
- A current police clearance for the Vulnerable Sector is mandatory.
- Proof of a valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
- Access to reliable transportation is essential.
- Applicants must reside in the local area (relocation will not be considered).
