IT Security Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Analyst to join our team at Apotex. As a key member of our GIS and P&Sec department, you will play a critical role in protecting our information and systems from external and internal threats.
Key Responsibilities- Risk Management: Assist in identifying and managing risks discovered through security or privacy assessments, or from technical solution implementations.
- Security Event Assessments: Participate in security event assessments and incident handling, including technical security events, policy infringements, and regulatory breaches involving GIS.
- Architectural Design Reviews: Perform initial reviews of architectural designs to ensure compliance with the overall Security Architecture.
- Audits and Compliance: Perform audits against the security programs of Apotex and partners, and report on any gaps that need to be addressed.
- Incident Response: Assist in coordinating efforts between network and systems administrators to contain and recover during security incidents or outbreaks.
- External Liaison: Work with external auditors, as required, and act as the primary liaison.
- Security Advice: Provide recommendations and advice to GIS staff on all matters related to security.
- Security Architecture: Contribute to the development and maintenance of the overall Security Architecture.
- Network and Systems Administration: Work with network and systems administrators in all GIS departments to ensure Apotex information and information systems are secure.
- Emerging Security Issues: Keep current with emerging security alerts and issues, and understand which issues can and should be addressed.
- Information Security Culture: Contribute to an information security culture by participating in the development and delivery of communications and/or training on the safe and appropriate use of Apotex information systems outlined in Apotex security policies.
- Professional Development: Develop and maintain effective relationships with counterparts in the industry as part of research into emerging security technologies and best practices.
- Leading Edge Security: Keep self at the leading edge of IT security through regular professional development activities.
- Professional Practitioner: Serve in a professional practitioner role in a particular area of expertise and work with management to determine the tactical implementation of strategic requirements of the organization.
- Secure Computing Solutions: Participate in IT and business discussions promoting the benefits and requirements of secure computing solutions.
- Departmental Effectiveness: Contribute to overall departmental effectiveness by providing detailed, accurate information and recommendations to management based on security audit findings or status reports.
