Responsibilities:

* Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems
* Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
* Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
* Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
* Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
* Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
* Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size
* Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations

Requirements:

* Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
* Level one to five apprenticeship training
* Ability to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and various locations
* Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads
* Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, judgment, and team player
