Douglas College is looking for a dedicated Student Assistant to support the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and various transitional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with fellow students and campus stakeholders to create effective learning outcomes and programs.
- Oversee event budgets and monitor financial expenditures.
- Organize necessary supplies, venues, and catering services.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers and Orientation Leaders.
- Provide guidance and support to volunteers, participants, and leaders throughout events.
- Manage event registration and maintain communication with attendees.
- Work alongside the Student Life Communication Team to develop marketing strategies.
- Previous campus involvement is preferred.
- Strong understanding of campus resources is essential.
- Experience in event coordination is advantageous.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Capability to work independently is necessary.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion is vital.
- Basic proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office is expected.
