POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Organizational Effectiveness and the Manager of Business Administration, the FCC Therapist II is responsible for delivering specialized counseling services in individual, couple, family, and group therapy across various Family Counselling Centre Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver individual, couple, family, and group therapy utilizing diverse modalities to cater to a wide range of clients with different presenting challenges.
  • Manage an ongoing caseload effectively.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans for each client and implement the most suitable interventions throughout the therapeutic process.
  • Collaborate with Family Counselling Centre team members, including intake services, to ensure effective case management.
  • Provide therapy sessions during weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required.
  • Communicate with collateral contacts as necessary, adhering to established protocols.
  • Keep the Manager updated on general case management and any significant occurrences that may affect the agency.
  • Maintain professional competence and engage in continuous professional development through literature review and participation in relevant programs.
  • Conduct assessment interviews as needed, either live or via video.
  • Act as a liaison with community organizations as assigned.
  • Participate in EAP and community marketing initiatives as required.
  • Deliver presentations to community groups and assist in program development as delegated.
  • Identify personal professional development needs to enhance performance.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations, utilizing protective equipment as necessary, and attend mandatory training sessions.
  • Report any hazards or equipment issues that may pose risks to safety.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • M.S.W. degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Licensure, certification, or registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., R.S.W, R.P).
  • Preference for candidates with demonstrated expertise in family counseling and eligibility for clinical membership with A.A.M.F.T.
  • A valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance are mandatory.

  • Strong personal integrity and a commitment to the objectives of Child Welfare and the Family Counselling Centre.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficient in various therapeutic modalities for individual, couple, family, and group therapy, including assessment and treatment planning.
  • Capability to work with diverse clients presenting a variety of issues.
  • Demonstrated skills in group facilitation.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills in a team environment.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports and meet administrative deadlines.
  • Marketing and public relations skills.
  • Presentation skills, including strong verbal communication.
  • Program development capabilities.
  • Ability to provide evidence in court when necessary.
  • Competence in assessing community resources.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, Outlook).
  • Availability for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in French or another language is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to challenging client behaviors.
  • Frequent travel required between multiple sites.
