About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Flooring Specialist to join our team at J & A Carpet and Flooring. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive high-quality flooring installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate measurements and precise markings.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding, as well as measure, cut, and install carpeting and resilient floor coverings.
  • Installation and Repair: Prepare and install hardwood floors, inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, and conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare floors for installations, remove existing floor coverings and contaminants, and employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Will train on the job.
  • Permanent work term.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 30 hours per week.
