Lead Forestry Project Coordinator

Overview: S I Systems is seeking a skilled Lead Forestry Project Coordinator to oversee the Professional Forestry aspects of various Capital Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage over 8 years of expertise in vegetation management and industrial forestry, focusing on forest management, operations, planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations related to forest practices, environmental and water resources, as well as cultural and heritage resources.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License in good standing and be prepared for regular travel and overnight stays.

Role Details:

The Lead Forestry Project Coordinator will report to the Vegetation and Access Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating Professional Forestry requirements across multiple Capital Projects.
  • Participating in a multidisciplinary team to address the forestry needs of vegetation management projects.
  • Analyzing and interpreting technical studies and data to provide expert forestry opinions and support for timber harvesting and access planning.
  • Developing comprehensive cost estimates for forestry and vegetation management activities.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in forestry practices.
  • Assisting in the creation of contract scopes, specifications, and documentation for forestry and vegetation management contracts.
  • Implementing and managing forestry engineering and layout contracts, including road layout and environmental feature identification.
  • Ensuring contract deliverables meet specifications through quality assurance checks and timely updates to project teams.
  • Supervising contracts for vegetation clearing and maintenance, including quality assurance audits and compliance reporting.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and government entities.
  • Assisting stakeholders in obtaining necessary agreements, authorizations, and permits.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in forestry management and project coordination.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and deliver high-quality results.
