Position Overview

Reporting to the Program Lead, and in alignment with the organization's vision and values, this position adheres to the standards of professional practice and ethical guidelines as set forth by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. You will provide essential dental health prevention and promotion services to various communities and populations.
Compensation: The updated wage is $29.15/hour.
Work Schedule: Week 1: Tuesday to Friday, 7.5-hour days; Week 2: Tuesday to Thursday, 7.5-hour days, and Friday, 4.5-hour day. Shifts are rotating from 08:30 to 16:30.
About the Facility: The Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 24-bed Acute Care establishment that integrates home and community care. It offers a variety of services including:
- Emergency and outpatient care
- Medical and surgical services
- Maternity care
- Palliative care
- Psychiatric observation
- Laboratory services
- Pediatric care
- Radiology services (X-ray, Mammography, Ultrasound)
- Home and community care
- Community cancer clinic
- Visiting specialists and surgeons

Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Successful completion of a recognized Certified Dental Assistant Program and at least one year of recent relevant experience.
- Current registration and licensure as a Certified Dental Assistant with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals.
- A valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for work-related purposes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interact positively with others.
- Physical capability to perform the duties required.
- Proficiency in operating relevant equipment and electronic systems.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Leadership and classroom management abilities.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of preventive and restorative clinical practices.
