About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Roofer to join our team at Flynn Canada Ltd. As an Apprentice Roofer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of roofing projects, including installing and repairing built-up roofing systems, single-ply roofing systems, and metal roofs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair roofing systems using various materials, including asphalt saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
  • Install and replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
  • Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on roofing techniques and best practices.
  • Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
Work Environment

As an Apprentice Roofer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors. You will also be required to handle heavy loads and work under pressure.

Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the roofing industry.
  • Dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, and reliability are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
