Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier approval programs, including database maintenance and risk evaluations
  • Conduct audits and assessments of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Investigate supplier nonconformities and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in the development of high-level standards for suppliers
  • Perform facility verification activities and virtual audits
  • Review and ensure compliance with labeling guidelines and destination standards
  • Monitor supplier performance and contribute to KPIs
  • Support product recalls and manage mock recalls and traceability exercises
  • Ensure quality compliance of incoming and outgoing samples
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a related food safety/quality role involving auditing
  • Experience in frozen foods and/or produce related manufacturing/distribution is preferred
  • Relevant certification/qualification programs such as Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, PCQI, ASQ, HACCP, etc. are strongly preferred
  • Strong English communication skills are required; other language skills are an asset
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized with a strong sense of values and integrity
  • Proven ability to meet defined deadlines and adhere to required processes
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including full MS Office Suite, PowerBI, Visio
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to supplier sites 10-20% of the time
