Who we are…

The Department of Finance partners to ensure value for money in the delivery of programs and services for Yukoners. The Department of Finance serves as the territory's statistical body and develops the territorial budget, corresponding supplementary budgets, and Public Accounts for the territory.

The Financial Operations unit manages and provides guidance and support for the financial operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable for the entire Government of Yukon. The team ensures compliance with financial legislation, policies, procedures, and directives, manages the centralized payment process, maintains the vendor and customer master files, reconciles and audits financial information and accounting transactions, and recommends and implements improvements to financial processes and procedures.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, the Supervisor, Financial Operations is accountable for the effective delivery of Government of Yukon's accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit including staffing, training, providing direction, and supporting team development. Other duties include responding to inquiries and requests from internal and external clients, working with the Office of the Auditor General, and collaborating with other areas on tasks and process improvements.
