Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical/material properties characterization under ISO/ASTM standards. This includes, but is not limited to, ICP-OES, powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, physical, and mechanical testing, and NDT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory operations and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing in a laboratory setting while adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
- Consistently write test reports correctly for all the testing required in the laboratory
- Oversee the lab's consumables redundancy program to prevent downtime from shortages
- Support Burloak's activities to ensure successful audits concerning ISO17025 and NADCAP accreditations for Heat Treatment and Materials Testing
- Review monthly preventative maintenance plans and assist in repairing and documenting malfunctioning equipment
- Train Co-Op students on relative testing techniques
- Communicate with supervisors on day-to-day activities to meet deadlines most efficiently
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a college technical degree in laboratory operations or relevant 3 years' experience in materials testing laboratory. They will also have demonstrated computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload, rapidly changing priorities, and challenging deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid laboratory experience with chemical and metal processing equipment and/or powder testing in an industrial environment
- Good learning agility and ability to quickly learn technical procedures
