About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at U.KTIONS INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the framing and installation of wood structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create precise and sturdy structures.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a solid and secure base for our construction projects.
  • Install Windows, Doors, and Stairs: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the finishing touches on our construction projects.
  • Train and Mentor Apprentices: Instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for framing and installation, ensuring they have the knowledge and expertise to succeed in their roles.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each project, ensuring that we stay within budget and meet our quality standards.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including commercial and residential properties.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the trade.
  • Work Setting: Construction, various locations, renovation, commercial, and residential settings.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, reliable, team player, punctual, and able to work in a permanent role with 35 hours per week.
