About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at R.A.M CONTRACTING LTD. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts and designs for building projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and steel to create structures and fixtures.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices and junior staff members.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain and repair existing structures, including residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Meet tight deadlines and manage a large workload.
  • Wear steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles as required.
