About the Position

As a Senior Manager, Community Animal Care Centres, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of all applicable BC SPCA programs and services within designated communities/regions. This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to liaise with other departments and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement annual strategic and operational goals and objectives for the area, in conjunction with provincial departments.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage direct reports, providing coaching and mentorship to ensure objectives and goals are met.
  • Act as the community ambassador/representative of all BC SPCA programs, policies, and procedures, using effective change management techniques to ensure high rates of success in implementation and compliance.
  • Ensure effective communication, coordination, and accountability of the Animal Centre in Large Scale Animal Intake (LSAI) files.
  • Represent the BC SPCA in the community, attending events and serving as the primary spokesperson for all BC SPCA programming in the area.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business, Management, or related discipline, plus a minimum 8 years' related experience, including 3 years' experience in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Proven leader with a track record of developing a high-performing team.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to organize work, meet priorities, and work within a demanding work schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned region and Province as necessary.
