Make a Difference in Mental Health Care

Homewood Health is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in Emergency Mental Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in crisis, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver seamless services and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care to patients in psychiatric crisis, requiring short stay admission to the Intensive Care Unit and Assessment and Stabilization program
  • Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, adhering to CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines, and program philosophy
  • Work from nursing care plans established by the primary nurse for each patient
  • Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments
  • Provide group facilitation and engage with interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
Requirements:
  • Licensed as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
  • 2+ years of experience in Mental Health/Acute Assessment/Community Crisis care
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community health resources
  • Current CPR/Basic rescuer certification
  • Knowledge of documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPPA)
