We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Technologist, CT to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing special procedure examinations in CT, utilizing safe radiation protection practices, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Examination and Imaging: Perform special procedure examinations in CT, including receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, and preparing examination trays and patients for specific procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Operate computerized imaging equipment, including processing and archiving of acquired data, and monitoring equipment performance.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients during procedures, observing and responding to possible contrast media reactions or other emergent situations in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control duties, including scheduling and performing equipment tests in accordance with recommended manufacturers' guidelines, recording results, and identifying malfunctioning equipment for repair.
- Supervision: May oversee the operations and activities of Medical Imaging personnel, including supervising departmental staff, preparing, planning, and establishing work and priorities to ensure efficient and effective use of department staff.
- Certification: Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Education and Experience: Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and one (1) year recent, related experience, including supervisory experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
