Position Overview

As the Head Coach for the Aquatics Swim Team, you will thrive in a dynamic environment. Your role involves enhancing the swimming skills of our team members in our modern recreational and lap pools, both indoors and outdoors. You will design and implement Swim Team Group Workouts in alignment with the seasonal strategy. Additionally, you will mentor the Swim Team Coaches, oversee the enrollment of new participants, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of our Aquatics Facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a safe and educational atmosphere for all participants
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with team members
  • Address member inquiries regarding Life Time's offerings, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized pool environment
  • Promote and market all Aquatics programs and services
  • Serve as the intermediary between the Aquatics Department Head, USA Swimming, Swim Coaches, and Parents
  • Engage in weekly one-on-one meetings with the Aquatics Manager
  • Develop the seasonal plan and workout templates for each training period
  • Input swimmers into the swim meet management system

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of coaching experience in swimming
  • Active membership in ASCA and USA Swimming
  • Certification in Safety Training for Swim Coaches
  • Completion of LTU Safety Training prior to the first shift
  • Fulfillment of all LTU courses within the first 60 days of employment
  • CPR/AED certification is mandatory
  • Lifeguard Certification to be obtained within 60 days of employment
  • Completion of all job-specific requirements through Life Time Education
  • Ability to remain stationary and navigate the facility for extended periods
  • Effective communication skills to assist guests with inquiries about Life Time services
  • Capability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
  • Physical ability to bend and lift up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally more than 20 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in swim lesson instruction
  • One year of customer service experience
  • ASCA Level 2 Certification or higher
  • Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid certification
