Lead Systems Administrator

As a key member of our DevOps team, you will be responsible for leading and growing a small team of seasoned SysAdmins. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the optimal performance and continuous availability of our hosting systems, including shared, virtualized, dedicated, and custom clusters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose performance issues, including load speed, database, and email performance
  • Monitor key performance indicators, such as web response times, backup durations, and system loads
  • Escalate complex issues and coordinate responses with the DevOps team
  • Develop and implement system performance tuning and optimization strategies, particularly in high-traffic WordPress environments
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of SysAdmins to ensure seamless system operations
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with system performance tuning and optimization
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with cPanel/WHM control panel and Bash or similar command-line scripting languages
  • Good understanding of web concepts, including DNS and IPv4/6
  • Experience managing and optimizing database systems, such as MySQL and MariaDB
  • Working knowledge of common website scripting languages, such as PHP, Perl, or Python
