Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance Department at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process financial transactions and data input on administrative systems
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve transaction discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Handle routine accounting or administrative inquiries and respond to stakeholders
  • Identify and implement continuous process and efficiency improvements
  • Prepare balance sheet and P&L journal entries
  • Document and maintain accounting models to ensure transactions are properly recorded
  • Use Blackline to reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts on a periodic basis
  • Support internal and external audit / tax requests for back-up and documentation
  • Support commodity tax filings in various jurisdictions
  • Analyze accounting data to identify trends and issues
  • Develop and produce reports to support key business insights and decisions
  • Support Corporate Finance dashboard development and updates
  • Review and document existing accounting processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain control procedures and systems
  • Participate in team and department projects
Requirements:
  • Completion or working towards professional accounting designation
  • University degree with Business, Finance, or Accounting major
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Eager to learn and take on stretch assignments
  • Experience and knowledge of a computerized GL / accounting system (experience with SUN is an asset)
  • MS Excel (Advanced), Word, SharePoint
  • MS Excel Macros, VBA, SQL, PowerBI, Dodeca, HFM (Asset)
  • Working competence in a second language would be an asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy
