The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a variety of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by several factors, including the role's scope, complexity, and location, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Salary Range $63,000 - $105,100.00Target Openings 1What Is the Opportunity?

This role involves servicing insured clients and agents in a designated territory. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate at their own expense if not currently residing in the assigned area.

Under moderate supervision, this position is accountable for managing first-party property claims, which includes investigating, assessing, estimating, and negotiating to achieve optimal claim resolutions for personal or business claims of moderate severity and complexity. The role may also involve handling claims and other functional work across various lines of business beyond property. The position is fully remote and may involve a combination of mobile work and work from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity as assigned.
  • Conduct field inspections of losses, including detailed damage assessments, photographs, and written estimates.
  • Utilize innovative technologies extensively.
  • Investigate and evaluate all pertinent facts to determine coverage, damages, and liability for first-party property damage claims.
  • Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves.
  • Determine appropriate settlement amounts based on independent judgment and various estimates.
  • Negotiate with multiple parties and communicate claim settlements within authority limits.
  • Draft denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other complex correspondence.
  • Accurately assess damage extent and manage costs using evaluation tools.
  • Meet all quality standards and expectations in line with the Knowledge Guides.
  • Maintain a diary system to capture all necessary data and document claim file activities.
  • Manage file inventory to ensure timely case resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations where applicable.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of insured clients, agents, and other stakeholders.
  • Recognize when to refer claims to specialized units.
  • Identify and refer claims with significant exposure to management.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Provide multi-line assistance as needed.
  • May mentor and coach less experienced claims professionals.
  • Attend legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program as required.
  • Secure and maintain a company credit card as needed.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary insurance licenses.
  • Engage in resolution desk technical work and follow-up calls.
  • Access and inspect all areas of a dwelling or structure as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • General knowledge of estimating systems, such as Xactimate, preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in outside property claim handling preferred.
  • Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills.

Essential Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in outside property claim handling or successful completion of Travelers' training program required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
