About the Role

Chandigarh Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Planning: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for various construction projects.
  • Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and prepare layouts in accordance with building codes.
  • Carpentry and Joinery: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a high level of finish and quality.
  • Project Coordination: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site surveys to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Cost Management: Estimate costs and materials required for projects and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Technical Skills: Operate Computer-Aided Design (CADD) and other computer software systems to support construction activities.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
