Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lead Acid Battery Assembly Technician at Westex International. In this role, you will be responsible for operating machinery to assemble, test, and package dry cell batteries, as well as performing minor repairs and collecting inspection results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery to assemble, test, and package dry cell batteries
  • Perform minor repairs to items rejected from the production line
  • Collect, record, and summarize inspection results
  • Position lead acid storage batteries on the assembly line
  • Insert battery contents into casing
  • Operate machinery to fabricate plates for lead acid storage batteries
  • Load machinery with glass tubes, bulbs, and other parts to produce light bulbs and tubes
  • Remove and package finished products
  • Operate or feed machinery and equipment to produce electrical wiring devices
  • Operate equipment to apply protective coatings to items
  • Check in-process and completed production for visual or mechanical defects
  • Operate testing equipment to maintain quality of products
  • Return faulty assemblies to production for repair
  • Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies
  • Set up and adjust production machinery/tools
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment that requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The successful candidate will be able to work in a repetitive task environment and have attention to detail.
