Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Liquor Store Operations Manager to join our team at Otter Co-op. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of our liquor store, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of retail professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, customer service, and sales growth.
  • Lead and manage a team of retail professionals, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve business objectives, including sales targets, customer service standards, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in periodic inventory, including physical counts, data entry, and reviewing reports for discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in retail management, preferably in the liquor industry.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong customer service and sales skills, with a focus on driving sales growth and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate required; WSET 1 or 2 designation an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to manage computer files efficiently.
  • Solid basic math skills and ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Self-starter with motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships both internally and externally to support the organization.
  • Enjoy working with the public and strive to provide a consistent and superior guest service experience.
  • Must have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week, including early mornings, afternoons, late evenings, weekdays, weekends, and stat holidays.
