About the Role

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Math and Science Educator to join our team as a Tutor and Coach for Academic Success. As a Learning Specialist for High School Students, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem by providing personalized support and guidance in math and science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels, providing individualized attention and support
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies to ensure a high-quality learning experience
  • Filling in post-lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field, such as mathematics, science, or education
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, as well as physics, chemistry, and biology
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
