We are seeking a skilled Tile Fitter to join our team at Manson Floor Covering Ltd. As a key member of our masonry team, you will be responsible for installing high-quality tile flooring and surfaces in commercial and residential settings.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tile, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
- Mortar and Adhesive Application: Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
- Tile Installation: Set tiles in place, apply pressure to affix them to the base, and align and straighten tiles to ensure a professional finish.
- Obstacle Navigation: Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, demonstrating attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Team Leadership: Instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Quality Control: Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, and cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite surfaces to the highest standards.
- Project Management: Estimate costs and materials, prepare tenders and quotations, and manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
- Work Setting: Commercial and residential settings, including offices, homes, and public buildings.
- Team Size: 3-4 people, with opportunities for growth and development.
- Work Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to meet project demands.
- Language: English, with opportunities for professional development and language training.
