Position Overview
Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Quality Assurance Coordinator in Environmental Services.
VCH is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Coordinator to enhance the Environmental Services Quality Assurance Team. This is an opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the alignment of VCH's strategic objectives with quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the administration of the regional Quality Assurance Program, ensuring adherence to all standards and organizational policies through comprehensive auditing, training, and procedural updates.
- Engage in the assessment, analysis, and reporting of quality assurance metrics for environmental services.
- Coordinate the rollout of new systems, initiatives, and policies, participating in various committees as necessary.
- Collaborate with leadership across all levels and departments, supporting clinical teams and engaging with management to enhance patient and resident care.
This role is integral to VCH's commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as Planetary Health.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Completion of a diploma in Environmental Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field, along with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid BC Driver's License is required for local travel within the VCH area.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of quality improvement methodologies and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with health facility support operations, including housekeeping, infection control, and evidence-based cleaning practices.
- Exceptional facilitation and training abilities, with a strong grasp of adult education principles.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in conflict resolution and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Experience in a dynamic environment, with the capability to uphold cleaning standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to recognizing and supporting diversity and equity throughout all engagement stages.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
