About the Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant, Surety to join our team at Intact. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the underwriting process for surety bonds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Distribute correspondence and reports to underwriters as directed.
  • Enter data into underwriting and billing systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and process surety bonds, renewals, riders, and legal documents.
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and end-users of surety bonds.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding bond status and project updates.
  • Review incoming bonds for compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Participate in surety clerical audits and implement necessary corrections or recommendations.
  • Calculate premiums for new and additional business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or higher, with up to two years of experience in a related field.
  • Quick and accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and ability to multitask.
  • Bilingual (French and English) required for regular interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
