Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and management of resident care, ensuring high standards of service delivery in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies and policies that align with the specific requirements of nursing services and resident care.
  • Create a Human Resource strategy for nursing and personal care, ensuring an effective mix of qualified staff to meet resident needs.
  • Foster a culture of safety and professionalism, advocating for evidence-based practices and clinical protocols.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts for nursing staff, promoting teamwork and high-quality performance.
  • Manage daily operations of nursing staff, including work assignments, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
  • Administer the nursing budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Direct the formulation and assessment of resident care plans and nursing protocols, integrating best practices into care delivery.
  • Conduct research related to nursing administration and resident care, implementing necessary operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance resident care and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards governing nursing services.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports as required.
  • Coordinate material management for nursing and resident care, leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with community partners to strengthen service delivery and support.
  • Provide on-call support for nursing services, addressing urgent care needs and staffing issues.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in nursing management within long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and relevant management certification.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse workforce in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare policies and their implications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated financial management and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to enhancing resident safety and quality of care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting long-term care services.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
