JOB SUMMARY

The primary objective of the Fitness Coach is to cultivate a clientele that enhances departmental revenue through the retention of current clients, effective marketing of services, and delivering exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Commit to fulfilling the needs of members and guests consistently.
  • Showcase proper techniques for all strength and cardio equipment.
  • Conduct assessments and provide guidance to members based on fitness evaluations and individual goals.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of club programs and events.
  • Engage in all staff meetings and mandatory activities.
  • Exemplify a healthy lifestyle as a role model.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with members.
  • Seek avenues for personal and professional development.
  • Adhere to professional dress standards as per the current dress code.
  • Provide customer service by helping members track their exercise routines, motivating them to achieve fitness goals, and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Proactively promote personal training services to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Encourage members to utilize additional club services and programs.
  • Suggest improvements for programs and services in line with industry trends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Capability to market personal training services and build a client base.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of two years of education in exercise science or a related field, along with at least two years of experience in a similar role; or a Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a nationally recognized personal training certification.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (to be obtained within 60 days of hire).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role requires the ability to physically or verbally demonstrate the correct use of equipment. While performing job duties, the employee frequently uses hands for tasks such as handling or feeling, reaching with arms and hands, and must be able to hear and speak. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
