JOB SUMMARY
The primary objective of the Fitness Coach is to cultivate a loyal clientele that enhances departmental income by nurturing existing relationships, promoting services, and delivering exceptional customer care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commit to fulfilling the needs of members and guests consistently.
- Exhibit proper techniques for all strength and cardio equipment.
- Conduct consultations with clients and provide guidance on exercise plans tailored to fitness assessments and individual goals.
- Assist in the creation and execution of club initiatives and events.
- Engage in all staff meetings and mandatory activities.
- Serve as a role model by advocating for a healthy lifestyle.
- Maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with members.
- Pursue opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Adhere to professional dress standards as outlined in the dress code.
- Provide customer service by helping members track their fitness journeys, motivating them to achieve their health objectives, and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly.
- Actively promote personal training services to attract new clients and retain current ones.
- Encourage members to utilize additional club offerings and programs.
- Suggest enhancements to programs and services based on current industry trends.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Effective time management skills are essential.
- Ability to market personal training services and secure clients.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of education in exercise science or a related discipline, along with at least two years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree in exercise science, or a combination of education and experience.
- Possession of a nationally recognized personal training certification.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The individual must be capable of demonstrating proper equipment usage, either physically or verbally. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to use hands for manipulation, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
