We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Life, Learning, Leisure Facilitator at Silvera for Seniors. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging experience for our residents.

About the Role

The Life, Learning, Leisure Facilitator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural, vocational, and social well-being of our residents. This includes creating opportunities for residents to engage in life, learning, and leisure activities, both on-site and off-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver programs that align with the 6 Dimensions of Wellness model
  • Collaborate with residents, staff, and external service providers to create a comprehensive program schedule
  • Provide coaching and support to staff and residents to facilitate program participation
  • Coordinate physical spaces, program leaders, and materials required for programs and events
  • Plan, promote, and support experiences both on-site and off-site
  • Orient new residents to scheduled and independent life, learning, and leisure opportunities
  • Monitor resident participation and responses during programs and provide observations, analysis, and recommendations
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with older adults
  • Post-secondary education or training in recreation, leisure, or gerontology (or a combination of experience and education)
  • Experience in designing, adapting, and delivering programs
  • Creativity, innovation, enthusiasm, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Previous experience in coaching, coordinating, and supporting volunteers (an asset)
