Technical Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Intertek. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, examine, and record inbound samples for testing.
- Deliver test samples to the sample staging area.
- Monitor the availability of supplies needed for testing processes and make any necessary requests to the Laboratory Manager.
- Prepare samples and calibrate equipment needed for testing processes.
- Perform testing of samples using specified methodology.
- Verify and communicate results obtained, and make appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, laboratory worksheets, and any other required media.
- Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Assist in the training of less experienced employees.
- Carry out all of the above responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.
- Other duties related to the above, as assigned.
- A minimum of high school diploma; college diploma in a technical or engineering field preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in construction products.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Proficient at mathematics.
- Ability to perform analytical tasks.
- Manual skill with tools and power tools.
- Protocol, procedure, and safety oriented.
- Organized with time management skills.
- An ability to work and communicate with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
