Position Overview

Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis functions for the organization and its associated entities.
  • Assist in the creation of comprehensive financial reports and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to improve reporting and planning capabilities.
  • Oversee the preparation of templates and reports related to financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and projections.
  • Conduct scenario analyses of operational budgets and prepare variance reports for management review.
  • Support the design and enhancement of planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including data governance improvements.
  • Prepare analytical packages and engage in financial review meetings with budget stakeholders to evaluate performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Generate actionable management reports and conduct both recurring and ad hoc analyses to provide insights into performance trends and variances.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of new policies and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the lead for financial planning inquiries and collaborate on finance projects across departments.
  • Document and manage finance processes effectively.
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline is required.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years in financial modeling and reporting, proficient in MS Excel, MS Dynamics Business Central, and MS Dynamics Power BI.
  • 5+ years of experience mentoring junior team members.

Skills:

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and Macros).
  • In-depth understanding of internal controls, risk management, and process efficiencies.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and analytical techniques.
