Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Lead/Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Packaging Rooms. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of production, maintaining high-quality products, and minimizing waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Packaging Rooms, assigning and directing the work of Line Leaders, Material Handlers, and Packagers.
- Monitor and direct the operation and pace of the lines, ensuring production output meets quality and efficiency standards.
- Review schedules and ensure production is executed efficiently, with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
- Ensure adherence to standard SOPs and job-specific packaging procedures, coordinating with Warehouse and Quality Assurance teams as needed.
- Partner with Mechanics and Line Leaders to troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.
- Oversee the precise checking of production output and ensure accurate documentation.
- Complete and/or ensure all documentation, including batch records and production run documentation, is completed accurately.
- Monitor quality via in-process inspection processes, in partnership with QA Inspectors.
- Make recommendations to the Director regarding improving labor and machine efficiencies and decreasing waste.
- Participate in the recruitment process and candidate selection, conducting employee orientations as needed.
- Schedule temporary resources and oversee employee training, identifying needs and concerns.
- Promote a positive working environment and encourage two-way communication.
- Investigate and write production incidents and deviations, raising issues to the Director as needed.
- Responsible for adhering to and enforcing GMP and safety practices, ensuring Packaging Rooms are cleaned and maintained daily.
- Monitor health and safety in the Packaging Rooms and ensure all logbooks are complete and accurate.
Requirements:
This position requires a strong background in packaging operations, with experience in supervising teams and ensuring efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
