Job Title: Shift Supervisor
Job Summary:
Boart Longyear is a global leader in drilling services, providing innovative and reliable solutions to the mining and drilling industry. With a rich history spanning over 130 years, Boart Longyear is committed to delivering excellence in safety, drilling services, and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Production Staff: Direct and supervise the activities of production staff to achieve production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
- Manage Operations: Oversee the processing operations during the assigned shift, ensuring work practices and procedures are followed.
- Production Scheduling: Establish and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all employees adhere to safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Conduct safety meetings and provide training as necessary.
- Quality Control: Monitor compliance with ISO-9001 quality systems and any other ISO systems. Perform quality checks and recommend improvements.
- Good Knowledge of CNC Programming/CNC/MC machine set up
Requirements:
- Familiarity with ISO-9001 Quality System and Environmental System.
- Must have permanent work authorization for Canada.
- Valid Canadian Driver's License.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a unionized setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including the midnight shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in business management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Certified Machinist
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols and regulations.
